Launched on December 9, 2009, 99labels has managed the feat of playing host to sales of more than 800 international and Indian brands since its inception. The portal claims that today orders have shot up to 2,000 per day compared to 300-400 in the initial year.
Today, 99labels has established its presence across the globe, with offices in five major cities, including Paris and New York.
Talking about the two-year journey, Ishita Swarup, Co-founder and CEO, 99labels, said, “We started the concept of private online sales and it’s great to see how far the idea has come. Today, we have bigger labels, more international partnerships, and smoother infrastructure to handle the growing volumes… everyone is standing up and taking notice of 99labels. 99labels has also foryed into the world of e-tailing brands. Fashion and lifestyle brands such as Diesel, Pierre Cardin, Calvin Klein, Gucci, Versace, Ritu Kumar, and Tarun Tahiliani have come on board 99labels, along with newer names like Terra and Bansri Joaillerie.
The portal claims to have a membership base of over 10 lakh, with a 100 per cent month-on-month growth. 99labels has spurred on its interactive communication by reaching out to members and potentials through its Facebook app, the 99store, which allows members the flexibility to access their favourite brands through Facebook as well.
99labels has also introduced a special loyalty club, called Club99, for those who have totaled up a spend of Rs 9,999 or more.
