Hindu Business Line’s ‘Cerebration’ challenges corporates

The Hindu Business Line is organising the corporate quiz on current affairs. The finals will be held in Mumbai on January 26

India’s top corporates battled it out for a place in the National Finals of ‘Cerebration’ – touted as India’s first ever corporate quiz on current affairs, organised by The Hindu Business Line.

Over 50 teams, who qualified for the fourth regional round after an online round, matched wits against each other to enter the finals, to be held in Mumbai on January 26.

Genpact’s Rohan Khanna and Anupam Jain emerged winners with a record score of 115 points at the end of the regional finals, held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. Genpact will represent the Northern Region at the national finals in Mumbai.

The runner-ups – Gautam Rajgopalan and Tanmay Prusty from Reckitt Benckiser – followed with 45 points.

Following the preliminary round, in which teams of two from companies such as Indian Oil Corporation, Deloitte, NTPC, CSC and others participated, it was finally down to six teams – namely, HCL Technologies, Reckitt Benckiser, Genpact, State Bank of India, NTPC and CSC.

Quiz master Giri ‘Pickbrain’ Balasubramanian said, “It is very heartening to see The Hindu Business Line embracing quizzing as a form of communication to establish a brand footprint in other centres (besides South India).”

Raghavan Srinivasan, Business Line’s Delhi Chief of Bureau, added here, “We aim to empower our readers not just with information but with insightful knowledge that they can use to succeed in whatever they do.”

The preliminary online quiz was taken by more than 115 teams in three weeks and the top 85 teams were shortlisted to participate in the regional finals. The competition will next go to Bangalore and then finally to Mumbai.

Corporation Bank is the principal sponsor of the event, while NCDEX and SAIL are the associate sponsors and KSG Group is the regional sponsor.
