Mantra listeners’ woke up to fresh changes on their favorite radio channel this Monday. After becoming the only 24 hour channel in its areas of operations, Radio Mantra has now made various programming changes, after concluding a massive research on listenership behaviors and patterns.
Commenting on the thought behind the changed programming, Kanwar Sameer, National Programming Head, said “Radio Mantra was the pioneer in its markets and our programming has been continuously evolving with the tastes of our listeners. The new programming changes are reflective of the change in the way our cities want to consume radio and the content they want to consume on radio. The core of the changes would be more humor, more music and more control to our listeners.”
To sustain the image of Mantra being a 'fun' and an 'entertaining' brand, two humor segments: 'Bakwaas Shayari' and 'Kab Banega Crorepati’ have been added.
Now 'Mera Wala Hit', the request show, would not be restricted to just weekends. Listeners can now control the music of the station every day (Monday to Saturday) from 11am to 2 pm. The late night show 'Jhankaar Beats' has been replaced by 'Love Aaj Kal', a show that would feature the best love songs of our times. A new program “Do Not Disturb” has been introduced from midnight to 6am.
The weekend programming has changed as well; Listeners can croon to 'Lazy Lamhe' every Saturday. Sundays would now be called “Salaam-E-Sunday”. It would feature back-to-back music and no jock talk.
Sharing thoughts on the changing face of Radio Mantra Narendra Tripathi, COO, said “We did the changes primarily for extending the bond we have shared with our listeners in a small period of time and to reinstate that sound of the station has changed. From our side it is just a small token to our listeners, who have been the integral part of our growth story.”
