Samsung & CNBC TV18 recognise India’s finest innovators
Based on the concept of ‘Innovation for Development’, Samsung Innovative Quotient is a platform developed to recognise unique innovators
The second season of CNBC TV18’s ‘Samsung Innovation Quotient’ came to an end with the grand finale hosted in the National Capital. With the objective of showcasing innovations in India, six finalists got the opportunity to present their innovations in front of a panel comprising Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Manipal Global Education; Sachin Bansal, CEO, Flipkart; Vineet Rai, MD, Aavishkar Ventures; Kunal Bahl, CEO, Snapdeal; Alok Kejriwal, Founder, 2Win Group; Dipesh Shah, Deputy Managing Director, Samsung India; and Senthil Chengalvarayan, President & Editorial Director, TV18 Business Media.
A host of innovative social ventures like Geothermal based air conditioning systems, Multi-utility tractors, Electronic public toilet, Mosquito Trap, Navigation system for visually impaired people and Emergency thermostatic dressing conceived and developed by six entrepreneurs shared the spotlight at the grand finale of the Samsung Innovation Quotient –Season 2. These finalists had to go through a meticulous scrutiny and short listing assessment by an astute Jury.
The Samsung Innovation Quotient Award went to Leo Mavely from Ahmedabad for developing AXIO: India’s first emergency thermostatic dressing AXIOSTAT; the First Runner Up Award went to Ganesham Pogula from Secunderabad for Herbi Sprayer and the 2nd runner up award went to Arun Shenoy from Mumbai for his innovation, GIBBS.
On the occasion of the grand finale, Suresh Venkat, Editor, Technology & Special Features, CNBC-TV18, said, “Innovation is the key to the success of any country and plays an integral role in forecasting a nation’s economic future. Taking each innovation further, Samsung Innovative Quotient 2 will also help the finalists in nurturing their product and making it ready for the market while trying to get them funding as well.
