Videocon D2H ropes in Abhishek Bachchan as brand ambassador

The company has also released a Satellite Box range consisting of satellite LCDs, satellite colour televisions, satellite DVDs and Satellite Box, which offer direct-to-home services. Some of the special features of these products are two tickers on the screen, multilingual electronic programme guide and an info bar, which provides programme, temperature, date, time, etc., on the screen. The transmission is directly from the satellite to the television screen, so it eliminates the need for a set top box.
A new ad, which uses the tagline, ‘Direct hai Correct hai’, has been created by Publicis Ambience and will take this concept to the masses. Bachchan will feature in the entire brand and product related communication.
Anil Khera, CEO, Bharat Business Channel Ltd (BBCL), said that the company expected to see at least 2 million subscribers by the end of this year. In its four months of operation, Videocon D2H claims to have already added 4 lakh subscribers and is now expecting to add at least one and a half lakh subscribers per month.
With this subscriber base, it intends to capture nearly 20 per cent of the DTH market.
Videocon D2H has partnered with Irdeto for Conditional Access system (CAS), while Tech Mahindra is their IT partner and IBM has partnered for technology infrastructure.
