It further consolidates the presence of the ‘small towners’ in mainstream advertising. After MS Dhoni beaming from all possible media platforms, it is now the turn of pugilist Vijender Singh, who bagged the Bronze in the recently-concluded Beijing Olympics, to bask in the media sun. Singh has been snapped up as brand ambassador for Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance.

Akshay Mehrotra, Head-Marketing and Corporate Communications, Bajaj Allianz life Insurance, said, “Vijender is someone who aptly fits our company’s ideology of hard work and perseverance. His dedication and determination has made him a winner. We hope his sincerity will show in this brand association and we wish him the best in the future.”

Talking on the advertising and marketing plans, Mehrotra said, “TBWA is our creative agency, and we will be coming up a TVC soon. Regarding other marketing plans, it will take a month before we finalise them.”

Commenting on his new role as brand ambassador, Singh said, “Even though I am going to get offers for brand endorsements and maybe a few modeling offers, too, as I had done some in the past, boxing will always remain my first priority and I hope to come back with a Gold next time.”

Neerav Tomar, CEO, IOS (Infinity Optimal Solutions) Sports and Leisure, said, “We are pleased to present Vijender as a youth icon for Bajaj Allianz and we hope that this is just a beginning of large brand associations for all athletes.”
