Jet Airways to introduce ‘kiosk check-in’, a first for the Indian aviation industry
Jet Airways has announced India’s first ever domestic ‘Kiosk Check-in’ facility from June 1, 2006. Kiosk check-in, available for domestic flights, can be availed of at Jet Airways’ kiosks located at the airport. When a customers uses kiosk check-in, the system performs a name check, verifies the PNR, enables passengers to select their preferred seats and print their boarding passes using the printer integrated with the kiosk.

BBC World seeks permission from the government to carry advertisements in India
BBC World news channel has sought permission from the I&B Ministry to allow it to carry advertisements on its channel available in India. Under the downlinking policy guidelines, the government has prohibited foreign news channels from carrying any India-centric advertisements in the Indian territory. However, it allows foreign news channels to apply to the government for waiving the blanket ban, which the Ministry will evaluate on a case-by-case basis.
