Currently, the website does not have an ad agency in place and its advertising is handled by freelancers and through alliances.
Bookmyshow.com was started by Hemrajani in 1999 and claims to have a 90 per cent market share in the online entertainment ticketing space.
Company officials said that Bookmyshow.com enabled customers book tickets through various platforms like the Internet, mobile application, WAP and the in-house call center. They claimed that 75 per cent of all cinema tickets sold online were booked on Bookmyshow, resulting in sales of over 650,000 tickets, with customer spends of over Rs 100 million on an average every month only on movies.
The company had tie-ups with the IPL teams of Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils. Bookmyhsow was the exclusive ticketing partner for Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab and the official online ticketing partner for the Delhi Dare Devils in IPL3. The company claims that the ticket sales revenue had crossed Rs 30 crore for the Mumbai Indians and Rs 24 crore for Kings XI Punjab.
