In a first of its kind, Sportzworkz now claims to be the first Indian agency to provide sports news clips. Beginning February 20, 2009, Sportzworkz had freezed deals with various news and sports channels based in India to cover India’s tour of New Zealand.

Zee News, Times Now, News24, ESPN-STAR Sports, Zee Sports and Ten Sports are among the channels that have signed up with Sportzworkz for this news feed.

Vishal Arora, Managing Director, Sportzworkz, said, “In these times of recession, the pressure on cost saving on all channels is huge. They find this arrangement to be perfect and we are able to provide the feeds on the scales of economy.”

Sportzworkz has been providing news content off an FTP site that caters individually to the different channels and also provides the channels with the option of getting that something extra and exclusively, for a very small revenue upside.

“It has worked very well for us so far. It’s a strong cost effective solution that provides us with good news angles and features both quickly and economically,” said Peter Hutton, Senior VP, Taj TV.

Hector Kenneth, News Editor, Times Now News, said, “The best thing about the FTP system is that the news is current and we can put it on air quickly. So, we don’t end up losing valuable time, which is so essential in the news business.”

In an effort to capture the market, Sportzworkz would be extending its facilities to both international and domestic broadcasters for the Indian Premier League and T20 World Cup in the UK. “We are a young company and hoping to expand by providing value editions at a never before price to our clients. I am hoping that we become the premier cricket and Indian sports news provider in the times to come,” added Arora.
