While last year Mona ‘Jassi’ Singh shook a leg with the Fundoo kids, this year Mandira Bedi is set to groove with four Fundoo kids for the music video. Well-known Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan will make Bedi and the kids dance to her tunes.
Nick Fundoo Superstar 2008 is a five-week initiative that began on May 6 and would continue till June 8.
Commenting on the promotion, Nina Elavia Jaipuria, Vice President & General Manager, Nick India, said, “Nick believes in giving kids what they want. Nick Fundoo Superstar is another step in this direction and every aspect of it has been designed keeping a child in mind. Since kids want to be famous on TV, we made this the core proposition of our summer campaign. I look forward to seeing loads of ‘Fundoo’ kids across the country grooving to the ‘Nickified’ version of ‘Mauja Hi Mauja’ and hope they have a blast this summer.”

To be a Nick Fundoo Superstar, there are no auditions or jury. To take part in the contest, kids just need to be their ‘fundoo’ selves. Apart from the four winners, who would feature in the Nick Fundoo music video, thousands of other kids would also get to win loads of daily prizes like cycles, mobiles and much more.
On the marketing front, Nick has prepared a high decibel multi-platform campaign around Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest to reach kids across every conceivable touch point. The 360-degree campaign comprises multi-city ground activation, print, online, cinema, radio, outdoor and cross-channel plan.
Mass media, led by cross-channel promotion on television, aims to not only reach the kids, but also their parents, who are the key influencers. On ground, there would be a fleet of Nick wagons across more than 20 cities that would tour key markets and a school activation programme across schools, thus extending the Nick experience beyond television.
In addition, mall activities across key markets would engage kids and their families and build awareness. The activity would also be aggressively promoted in-cinema around the launch of big summer movie releases that have kid affinity.
The grand finale of the Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest would be the release of the Nick Fundoo music video on Nick in July 2008. The Nick Fundoo Superstar Contest is presented by Cadbury Bournvita, while associate sponsors are Wrigleys Boomer and Nestle Maggie Cuppa Noodles. Red FM is the radio partner.
