To set the benchmark of marketing excellence in the country and honour the most outstanding campaigns, exchange4media has announced the entry shortlist for the Indian Marketing Awards 2014 – presented by Hindustan Times and powered by Colors. Marketing campaigns from Tata, HUL, Parle, Dabur, Infosys, BJP, Satyamev Jayate and Philips have made it through the first screening round.
The awards, to be held on December 12, will recognise the fact that marketing is critical for organic growth of a business and plays a key role in creating, communicating, capturing and sustaining value for an organisation. The event has the biggest names in the industry taking part in the judging process.
The Grand Jury
Vinita Bali, Non- Executive Director, CRISIL, Titan Industries, The Wadia Group Companies and Parimal Glass Limited, is the jury chair. Amarnath Ananthanarayanan of Bharti Axa Life Insurance, Geetu Verma of HUL, Harit Nagpal of Tata Sky, Kamal Bali of Volvo India, Prema Sagar of Genesis Burson- Marsteller, Ranjan Kapur of WPP, Saugata Gupta of Marico India, Thomas Puliyel of IMRB International, Vijay Subramaniam of Bacardi India, Amit Burman of Dabur and Sangeeta Pendurkar of Kellogg India the members that constitute the grand jury that will decide which entries sweep the awards this year.
The Pre-screening Jury
The members of the pre-screening jury include Debabrata Mukherjee of Coca Cola, Vivek Sharma of Philips, Dinesh Garg of TTK Prestige, Prabhakar Tiwari of Ceat India, Aarti Ahuja of TCNS Clothing, Girish Shah of Godrej Properties, Sandipan Ghosh of Ruchi Soya Group, Anshul Punhani of Monster.com, Sandeep Aurora of Intel, Apurva Chamaria of HCL, and Saujanya Shrivastava of Bharti Axa Life Insurance.
With an aim to advance the marketing profession, unlock the potential of ideas, markets and businesses and realise their true value for customers and organizations, IMA 2014 is looking at setting new standards of marketing excellence, while recognising and honouring creativity, originality and effectiveness delivered by marketers.
Judges Talk
Vinita Bali, who is heading the jury at the Indian Marketing Awards 2014, said, “I think these awards are a great way of recognizing, rewarding and inspiring talent in the industry. The way I see it, these are meant to inspire and celebrate. And they are also meant to think deeply about what is the enduring and lasting change you want to create as a result of the way we activate those brands, and some of things could perhaps be better captured in our drive for excellence.”
“I believe that this award should gather momentum in terms of better quality of entries, better participation, and also some more incisive insights which we gather. I think these awards have great potential, and I hope all other brand marketers take part in it in the years to come,” said Saugata Gupta, Managing Director & CEO, Marico.
“Judging by the entries, these awards are high on innovation, they are being creative, they are embodying excellence in business. Above all, what impressed me the most was that most of the entries had a social conscience at the centre of their message,” pointed out Vijay Subramaniam, Managing Director - India & South East Asia, Bacardi India.

The quality of entries across was phenomenal. They leveraged technology to the fullest, and the amplification of ideas was very compelling.”
