Kanika Mittal, former marketing director at Reebok India, has joined Twitter India as Head of LCS, North and East India.
Welcoming her on board, the country director of Twitter India, Taranjeet Singh, tweeted:
To which Mittal replied:
Mittal’s journey at Reebok began in 2007 when she joined as assistant marketing manager. She steadily moved up ranks by becoming brand manager in 2009, then senior brand manager in 2011 and finally marketing director in 2012, a role she held for nearly six years. Mittal took up as Reebok India’s marketing director just when the brand wanted to shed its image as a pure-play sports brand and become a name to be reckoned with in the fitness sphere. Mittal’s role therefore was to build the brand, focus on improving business performance, initiate a disruptive women’s-first approach, design an always-on digital approach.
She created the popular #FitToFight and #GirlsFight Campaign with Kangana Ranaut, breaking stereotypes and addressing issues of Gender Pay Gap and Eve Teasing.
Mittal also has been recognised at various awards events including: Asia’s Top 50 Brand Leaders in the CMO Asia Awards, Singapore; Leadership Award at the 4th Femina Women Leadership Awards; Special Mention in Impact’s Most Influential Women in Marketing and Media 2016; Top 10 young marketing heads of India 2015 by Pitch Magazine and Most Influential Marketer of the year (Sports Category), 2015 by Brand Academy to name a few.
She is an alumnus of MICA.
