As part of its strategy to increase mobile penetration in the country, Philips India, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Philips Electronics, has launched a trendy mobile with colour display. The Philips 162 model is priced Rs 4190.

As part of its strategy to increase mobile penetration in the country, Philips India, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Philips Electronics, has launched a trendy mobile with colour display. The Philips 162 model is priced Rs 4190.

Speaking at the launch, K S Ravichander, General Manager, Sales and Distribution, Wireless Division, Consumer Electronics, Philips India, said, "The Philips 162 is a value for money product with a sophisticated style element. It fits in beautifully with the value for money concept and caters to those customers who want the essential elements of a mobile phone."

The new model, which is available in key mobile phone outlets across the country, comes with cheerful animations in an icon-based menu and a comfortable keypad. The slim, lightweight and compact model gives the consumers an array of choices by offering them multi-person SMS feature, varied wallpapers, and polyphonic ring tones. It is available in a variety of colours to match every mood.

With a one-year warranty, Philips 162 provides up to four hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of stand by time.
