Travel portal Cleartrip.com has appointed JWT India to handle its creative business following a multi-agency pitch. Publicis India is the incumbent agency, while the media duties are being handled in-house by the client.

Noel Swain, Vice-President, Marketing (All India), Cleartrip.com, has confirmed the development. On the estimated account size, all he would say was that the ad spend was substantial. It may be noted that in the previous pitch process, the account size was reportedly in the range if Rs 15-20 crore. Swain added that the other agencies in fray this time included Rediffusion DYR and Grey India, along with JWT India.

On the reason for appointing JWT as its agency, Swain said, “We are planning a 360-degree marketing approach for our business. Thus, we were looking at an agency that would fulfill strategic inputs, coupled with creativity across every channel of communication. JWT India fits in these criteria well.”

Swain further said that this year, besides traditional mediums, they would also concentrate more on BTL activities as a potential medium in some key markets of India.

Elated with the new business win, Dhunji Wadia, Managing Partner, JWT India, said, “We are delighted to partner Cleratrip.com as they expand their offerings and are looking forward to creating path breaking communication in this exciting category.”
