Sahara Motion Pictures reveals big plans
Sahara Motion Pictures has staked its claim to become the largest corporate entity in the film entertainment business. Shailendra Singh, Joint Managing Director, Percept Advertising, who is also on the Board of the Sahara Motion Pictures consulting panel, claims that the entity has 47 productions in 2004.
Cable operators to go on nationwide strike protesting service tax
MSOs and Cable TV operators across the country have decided to go on an indefinite strike to protest the imposition of 10.2 per cent service tax. Spokesperson of All India Cable TV Forum, says all major cities and towns would stop the services of cable TV from August 17. Only four news channels will remain operative during the strike.

The new launches on STAR Plus (‘Dekho Magar Pyaar Se’) and Sony Entertainment Television (‘Hum 2 Hain Na’ and ‘Ayushmaan’), have extracted mixed reactions from the media. TAM Media Research’s opening numbers indicate that while the shows haven’t managed to deliver as per expectations, the trend largely observed is a positive one. Channels, needless to say, are satisfied.

Added to this, New Era Publications – a Dainik Bhaskar Group venture, is also coming up with a Hindi family magazine, ‘Aha! Zindagi’. The first issue for September 2004 will be on stands by August end.
