WhiteHat Jr trolled for causing ad 'nuisance'
Users on social media complained that the edtech company has been going overboard with nonstop TV and digital ads
Whitehat Jr, the edtech platform which was recently acquired by BJYU'S, has been facing a barrage of online trolling. Users have complained that the edtech company has been bombarding them with TV and digital ads. Some have taken to Twitter to directly address their grievances with the company. Here are some of the comments.
Whitehat Jr wont stop showing you ads until you find a girlfriend, get married, produce kids and get them enrolled in Whitehat jr.

First they convince you to take one trial class and after that they start hounding you to enroll into the class. If you say no, then they keep calling you, send SMS and watsapp messages from multiple numbers...not accepting NO for an answer!!!

I bought your course #WhiteHatJr for my would be child. Is there any way I don't see your ad now?

Can you ask your Jr. Sundar Pichai to write a program for me to block you. Of course I'll pay Jr. Sundar Pichai for it. And then you can advertise Kid engineer earning a million.
Isn't this kind of too much? #whitehatjr pic.twitter.com/le7QSkpycm

after its acquisition by Byjus ?
I’m not sure if it is working for them or against them!#whitehatjr
Some users have directly tagged its founder Karan Bajaj and its celebrity endorser Sonu Sood, complaining about the ad nuisance on social media.
The company, on its part, doesn't seem fazed by the trolling. Bajaj spoke to a leading daily saying that the that the users expressing irritation about the ads are not parents and they barely affect those in the high-involvement category. He added that there has been no change in their ad strategy in the last month, except that they rolled out TV ads three weeks ago, and that WhiteHat Jr's ad spends have grown proportional to their revenue.
WhiteHat Jr is an edtech platform specialising in coding, which was acquired by BYJU'S in early August for $300 million.
