The exchange4media Group hosted the 15th edition of the Indian Digital Marketing Awards (IDMA) on July 19 in Mumbai. At the awards night, HP took home a gold metal for its campaign featuring the Omen gaming laptop range. The brand won the gold metal under the Cross Mobile Integration sub-category. The media campaign was executed by Amazon Ads.

e4m IDMA 2024 honoured and celebrated the outstanding work done by brands and agencies in the digital media ecosystem. The awards recognised the innovation and creativity of the brands and agencies in curating insightful and impressive campaigns.

HP strategically harnessed Amazon’s vast audience, product suite, and data-driven approach to execute a quarter-long media campaign for their Omen gaming laptop range. The campaign aimed to secure a strong foothold in the premium gaming laptop segment, where HP previously held the 5th position in market share.

The campaign was a hit among viewers. The awareness for Omen was significantly boosted through targeted efforts by the brand. The keyword ‘Omen transcend’ trended on Amazon, resulting in a 2.4X surge in branded searches compared to the pre-campaign period, driving product views on Amazon. During Amazon’s ‘Great Indian Festive Sale’ in October 2023, HP witnessed a remarkable increase in sales compared to the pre-campaign period. Omen emerged as one of the top-selling gaming laptops on the platform, and HP claimed the 3rd position in market share for premium gaming laptops on Amazon.

Speaking about the success of the campaign, Kanika Sharma, India Digital Activation Lead, HP, said, “Amazon has been a priority platform for HP to reach relevant audiences due to their detailed audience insights gathered from browsing and shopping signals. The full-funnel approach for OMEN helped us in achieving our desired results across the funnel. Sequential approach helped optimise for reach and frequency in the target cohort & HP reached top 3 in the premium gaming segment on Amazon”.

The Indian Digital Marketing Awards recognise and celebrate the exceptional work and achievements of brands and agencies across eight prime categories, which are further divided into several sub-categories. The major categories include Web, Mobile and Tablets, Social Media, Search and PPC campaigns, For Small Medium Business, For Start-Ups, Hall Of Fame Awards and Special Awards.
