In a significant development, FMCG major, Dabur India, following a multi-agency pitch, has handed over the media planning mandate of some of its categories to Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG). Prior to this, the company's media planning mandate, across all categories, was consolidated with Maxus India.

Dabur has a comprehensive range of products in the home care, personal care, health care and food & beverage sectors. SMG will handle the media planning for Dabur’s entire portfolio of skin care, hair oils and home care products. Maxus continues to handle the rest of the categories for Dabur India.

As is known, Dabur’s buying is done by in-house agency, Adbur.

For Starcom MediaVest Group, the win ensures a great start for the agency in 2012. Malli CR, CEO, Starcom MediaVest Group, India, said, “We are thrilled to associate with Dabur. The brand has a legacy of offering some of the best, natural products in the category. Our solid Research & Analytics combined with robust Media Planning tools will accelerate Dabur’s visibility, recall and intent among consumers.”

Dabur, a 125-year old company, is considered a world leader in Ayurveda with a portfolio of over 250 herbal and Ayurvedic products.
