IPL 2023: 18 new categories & 61 new brands in first 25 matches

As many as 18 new categories and 61 new products were advertised in the first 25 matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 16, compared to the same number of matches in IPL 15, according to a TAM AdEx report.
According to the report, among the 61 new brands, Airtel 5G Plus topped the list, followed by Parle Platina Hide & Seek Bourbon. Vivo V27 Series, Thums Up Charged and Joy Hello Sun Sunblock Anti-Tan Lotion were the other three brands in the list of top five.
The report stated that among the top five new categories, four belonged to the F&B sector. Also, of the the top five categories that were present in IPL 15 but not in IPL 16, four belonged to the e-com category.
Meanwhile in IPL 16, ecom-gaming and pan masala retained their first and second positions respectively throughout all the 25 matches. During IPL 15, ecom-gaming retained its first position in the first 25 matches and Pan Masala managed to be in the list of top five categories.
The top five categories in IPL 16 together had 58% share of ad volumes. Ecom-Gaming & Pan Masala are the only common categories in IPL 16 and 15. Also, of the five top categories in IPL 16, three belong to the F&B sector.
The top five advertisers contributed 39% share of ad volumes during 25 matches of IPL 16. Sporta Technologies was the only common advertiser in IPL 15 and IPL 16. During IPL 16, Sporta Technologies retained its first position and managed to be in the top five list of advertisers throughout all the 25 matches.
Also the number of advertisers during the Matches (1-12) and Matches (13-24) in IPL 16 have remained nearly stable. Whereas the count of categories grew in matches (13-24) during IPL 16 compared to matches (1-12). Therefore, for a total 25 matches there were over 30 categories and 45 advertisers.
