At a time when CAS and DTH service providers are battling it out for a share of the Delhi and Mumbai markets, MTNL has announced the launch of IPTV services in the two metros. Commercial operations in Delhi will begin from November1, 2006, while operations in Mumbai are expected to commence from the beginning of next year.

Radio One Chennai to on air in November, ropes in John Vijay as Content Head
Radio One, a Mid-Day Multimedia and BBC Worldwide venture, is slated to launch in Chennai in November this year. The channel has appointed John Vijay as Programming Director. Radio One has already launched its FM stations in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore and is expected to become operational in Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Pune shortly.

NDTV Ltd on Tuesday unveiled its new corporate model, which enables NDTV to raise funds for its future businesses beyond news. The new company, NDTV Ventures, will incubate and operate focused verticals in this space. The corporate model will permit investments by strategic and financial partners in individual verticals, as well as in NDTV Ventures. This expansion will help enhance NDTV shareholder value.
